Arsenal Ladies Started the Season with 4-0 Victory over Blackburn Rovers

Arsenal defeated West Bromwich thanks to the debut goal by Samir Nasri to start the season well. Today, Arsenal ladies football team also followed their men counterparts, clinching an excellent 4-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers in the opening game of premier league. No doubt, it has been a solid start for the defending champions. Arsenal’s English star Kelly Smith was instrumental in the win as the striker picked up a hat-trick in the season opener.


Smith found net twice in the first 17 minutes of the game to put Arsenal ahead in the match. Then in the 46th minute, Jayne Ludlow increased the lead. Leading by 3-0, Arsenal kept the pressure on Blackburn and in the 56th minute Kelly Smith completed her hat-trick. Arsenal ladies team is the most successful premier league team in ladies football in England with 10 premier league titles to their credit and they have been the winner of premier league for the last five seasons in a row.
