Emmanuel Adebayor: Milan or Chelsea?

Sometimes, I cannot understand how the footballers, coaches and clubs behave in the transfer market. Just a few days ago, Emmanuel Adebayor stated that he would stay in Arsenal because he felt that the club has put him in the global football map. Now, there is intense speculation that he may head for Italy to AC Milan. Last year, after the end of the season, similar intense speculations took place too. This time most probably it will happen. This time also, Arsene Wenger is not that much keen to keep him. I don’t understand the reason. He is a good player and one of the top strikers in EPL. It seems that Chelsea is also keen to have him and boost their fire power.

Emmanuel Adebayor: “We Need More Hunger to Win Silverware”

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor thinks Arsenal players need to have killer instinct in order to clinch their much-awaited silverware this season. Arsenal could stave off the challenge posed by West Ham United as the North London club came out of the Boleyn Ground with a 2-0 victory. Arsenal was lucky enough to get the first goal in the match thanks to an own goal awarded by West Ham United. Then it was Adebayor who doubled the lead towards the end of the match. There is no doubt, Arsenal was happy to have picked up with 3 points from the match, but their performance was not as impressive as it was against Fenerbahce on the road in Champions League last week.

Emmanuel Adebayor feels Arsenal players need to have more hunger for title and that is what he thinks crucial for the Gunners in order to put an end to their title drought this season. Adebayor thinks people like Arsenal’s style of football, but he feels, winning a trophy is better than playing good without achieving any title. The Togolese international believes a team like Arsenal deserves more than winning a league cup. However, to do that, he insists, Arsenal must have to be desperate more on the field.

Arsenal is going to face their struggling cross town rivals Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow (Wednesday) in a high profile North London derby.

Emmanuel Adebayor Sees Fulham Loss as a Warning for Arsenal

Arsenal’s Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has admitted that their title bid has been difficult following the recent setback Arsenal suffered at Fulham. Arsenal lost their second game of the season 1-0 to Fulham, even though Gunners started the season with a 1-0 victory over promoted West Bromwich Albion in the opening match. However, Adebayor, who was Arsenal’s highest goal scorer of the last season, sees the defeat as a warning for their title bid.

The Togo international thinks that Arsenal can not afford to any more loss at such an early stage of the season and asks for more focus from his teammates. He thinks the defeat can be the best warning for the club.

Arsenal midfield looked fragile in the match against Fulham and reports have it that manager Arsene Wenger is pondering to recruit a midfielder in the Summer transfer window. Let us see if Arsenal really lands another midfielder to fill the gap created by the departures of Mathieu Flamini, Alex Hleb and Gilberto Silva.

Arsene Wenger Says, ‘Adebayor’s Heart is with Arsenal’

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been booed by Arsenal fans during their 1-0 victory over West Brom in the opening match of the English premier league 2008-2009 season. However, Arsenal manager Arsene manager thinks that Adebayor made a sacrifice to decide to stay at Arsenal, despite having a number of offers from Europe’s big clubs like AC Milan and Barcelona. Even Adebayor himself was reportedly interested to leave the club.

The Togolese striker has recently signed a new four-year deal offering £80,000 a week. Wenger thinks that Adebayor was unfairly treated in the opening match because his heart is still with the club. Wenger has also added that Adebayor always preferred to stay at Arsenal, despite having a number of offers from other big clubs. Adebayor was the highest scorer for Arsenal last season with 30 goals to his credit.

I personally think that Arsenal fans should support Adebayor because he is 24 and has spent a very successful season with a big club like Arsenal. From professional point of view, it was very natural that Europe’s big clubs would track him for the next season, but still he did not leave the club being assured of an improved contract. I think, he deserved the new contract he signed recently for four years. I think, we should understand that he is currently the leading striker at Arsenal at this moment.

Emmanuel Adebayor is going to Stay at London

Many Arsenal fans were not happy with the way Emmanuel Adebayor treated the club before the start of this season. It seemed that Emmanuel Adebayor wanted to leave the club and go to either AC Milan or Barcelona. Even there was a lot of discussion about the price of Adebayor. Now, it seems that he will be going to stay in the club for a long term. It is now confirmed.

Well, I think that there is a lesson to be learnt by other players at Arsenal. The fans did not like the whole saga and showed their disapproval with this Togo national player. Arsene Wenger has come in support of him and asked the fans to calm down and support Adebayor. In fact, he can be a great asset for the club. Last season, he showed that he really can score and he was the second highest goal scorer in EPL. This time, he should try to be even one step better and become the top scorer.

Emmanuel Adebayor Staying ANotehr One Year

It seems that Arsenal fans have some thing substantial to cheer about at last. They have lost some important players before the start of the season, but at last they have very good news. You know that only two weeks ago there was news all over the media that Emmanuel Adebayor was leaving Arsenal and joining AC Milan. Now, there is good news that he is going to stay in the club. He is expected to stay until 2011. Now, he has signed an extension to the deal by extra one year.

Independent wrote:

Adebayor, 24, has signed a one-year extension in addition to the three years on his existing deal and is also understood to have doubled his wages to around £70,000 a week. Nevertheless it is a far cry from the £120,000 a week that the Togo striker was initially understood to have demanded once he realised he was a leading target for Milan and Barcelona. Wenger also yesterday attacked the conduct of the European teams who had made illegal approaches to his players at the end of last season.

It is good news for all the fans of the club. Emmanuel Adebayor was the top scorer for Arsenal last season and he was the second highest goal scorer in English Premiere League.
